We're sorry to have slept on Brisbane-based singer-songwriter May Lyn up to this point. Thankfully, the 18 year-old talent has a full EP, Acension, for us to eat up readily available now, no waiting around necessary. 'Space' is the pick of the lot, a smoky downtempo pop number which recalls the sleek nighttime balladry of Banks and maybe even a bit of Grimes in the featherlight production; all wisps of shimmering synth and familiar, delicate vocals. It's a big step up from the charming but often overly ambient demos further back in her SoundCloud catalogue.
